Today has been amazing! Slightly terrifying, but mostly amazing! So after I went through some lines and picked up my tags and such, I ended up being left in this tiny classroom alone. Then this guy comes in and he only speaks Hmong (it’s actually spelled Hmoob in their language) and is just teaching me! It was nuts! This utter confusion continued for thirty minutes, until others finally arrived so I wasn't the only one. I’m actually pumped for the language; I think I’m going to pick it up quick. So it turns out I’m in a trio instead of a companionship, and the three of us are all new this week and the only three Hmong speakers in the MTC.
Now it is day 2 – time is nuts! Anyways, my companions are Elder Lowry, and Elder Burdick. I love them! I’m already a district leader, my head is exploding with information! The Hmong language is either a desperate lost cause or is completely amazing.
Sorry this is so frantic; I’ve literally had five minutes.
I’m so happy. It is amazing here. I know I’ve been called by god, and I can already feel him blessing me so much. I know he is blessing you too, and I love and miss you guys.
